German (LANSAD)
a. For SHS
GERMAN FOR HISTORS - M1 and M2 PAH and Research : (This course is also open to Masters in Cultural Development Strategy)
Aims: Study of specialist vocabulary; development of each student's language skills according to their starting level (minimum A1).
The emphasis is on understanding authentic documents (written and oral) and on oral expression in an academic context.
Topics covered : (some examples depending on the year, the programme changing every semester so that there is no repetition over 4 consecutive semesters - M1 and M2 being shared)

The Babelsberg/UFA studios and the beginnings of cinema
History studies in Germany
Aspects of German history since 1945
Contemporary Germany: demography; immigration; refugees
Art history: pictorial movements of the 19th and 20th centuries
Architecture and memory: destruction/reconstruction of Berlin Castle/GDR Palace; the Bauhaus; the Jewish Museum; memorials and monuments...
Music
Methods : Grammar exercises; comprehension of written and oral documents; summaries and oral presentations; individual and pair work; textual, iconographic and audiovisual aids.
b. For ALL
LANSAD is included in your syllabus for semesters 1, 2 and 3. Any language started is retained throughout the course; once enrolled in a language, you will not be able to change.
It will not be possible to change languages from one semester to the next.
GERMAN LANSAD
Grand Beginner level: Level A1-A2 (cf. CEFRCommon European Framework of Reference for Languages, http://eduscol.education.fr/cid45678/cadre-europeen-commun-de-reference-cecrl.html).
Introductory or discovery level (A1) and intermediate or common level (A2): introducing oneself, talking about oneself and others, communicating in a simple way on topics of daily life and one's environment.
Students who studied German at collège or lycée cannot register for the Grand Beginant level.
Objectives:
The aim of the course is to work on the 5 language skills of the CEFR: oral/written production; oral/written expression; interaction. Particular attention will be paid to listening comprehension.
The 5 language skills of the CEFR will be assessed.
Introduction to the basics of the German language, learning the basics of oral exchanges, continuous oral expression, reading simple documents related to everyday life, introduction to written production.

GERMAN LANSAD

Corresponds to students who took German as LV2 at lycée.
Objectives:
The aim of the course is to work on the 5 language skills of the CEFR: oral/written production; oral/written expression; interaction. Particular attention will be paid to listening comprehension.

Deepening the linguistic foundations of German, developing oral exchanges, continuous oral expression, reading documents, introduction to written production.

TC (Marketing Techniques)
1st year

To develop the 5 language skills defined by the CEFR: oral/written production; oral/written expression; interaction.
Objectives:
-understand a written or spoken professional or general document
-communicate in writing and orally
-acquire the tools to make an oral presentation
-acquire the tools to interact in a professional situation
Contents :
Study of documents in the field of management, economics, marketing, commerce and more generally business: audio and video documents, press articles, role plays, oral presentations, summaries or synthesis of documents, documentary research (presentations, press files), case studies.
TC (Marketing Techniques)
2nd year

To deepen language skills applicable to the professional world.
Objectives:
-Understand, explain and comment on a professional, information or general document
-understanding/producing a commercial document (brochure, organisation chart, etc.)
-communicate in a professional context
-master the tools of professional presentation
-Interacting in a professional situation
Contents :
Case studies, study of professional documents, synthesis and summary of various documents, role plays (negotiating with foreign speakers, leading a meeting, etc.)
d. FOR DEG :
Master MCI Management with a focus on International Trade and Tourism
M1 German Language and Civilization
Objectives: With an intercultural perspective, the course is held in German and aims to give students a good knowledge of contemporary Germany while developing their linguistic skills.
The emphasis is on oral expression in professional contexts.
Topics covered :
The political system since Unification (modalities of Unification; Bundestagswahlen)
Geography, Länder and tourist routes
Population: ageing; immigration, migrants
Companies in Germany and France: legal forms; work organisation; internal communication; recruitment (CVs, covering letters, job interviews)
Intercultural communication
Taxes; the banking system
Germans and tourism: history; tourist destinations; sustainable tourism.
Methods : Grammar exercises; understanding written and oral documents; translations; summaries and presentations; individual and pair work; simulating a round table discussion. Textual and audiovisual aids.
M2 Cultural approaches
Objectives: Enrichment of general knowledge of contemporary Germany, knowledge of current economic and political developments, thematic vocabulary, work on oral and written expression.
Contents: diversified work based on written material, videos and the Internet on the following themes
German political life, structures and institutions, current events (elections...)
Economic life, work and employment (types of management)
Tourism in Germany and worldwide
Germany and international trade
Intercultural management
