As part of the 2018-2022 institutional contract, the Research Committee of the Academic Council of Avignon University has decided to launch a recurring call for research projects to support scientific activity.

This call for projects is designed to support preliminary research likely to contribute to the emergence of structuring, scientifically ambitious projects with a high potential for international influence. It also aims to strengthen interdisciplinary collaborations within the institution and/or international collaborations.

These projects should help research teams to prepare responses to major national, European or international calls for projects.

Each project must fall into one of the following categories, which may or may not correspond to the institution's priority themes:

  • Agro&Sciences
  • Culture, Heritage and Digital Societies (CPSN)
  • All themes - excluding the school's priorities

For the Agro&Sciences and CPSN categories, obtaining Tersys or Agorantic funding for the same project is not an obstacle to obtaining Research Commission funding as long as the latter does not cover the same activities.

Deadline for the 2024 call for projects: 17/01/2024
Contact: aap-recherche@univ-avignon.fr

In order to contribute to the scientific and technological influence of the research structures it recognises, the institution supports the organisation of scientific conferences and events.

Deadline for the 2024 call for projects: 14 May 2024

This programme is aimed at researchers who are planning to submit an article or a response to a call for proposals in a foreign language and who need linguistic support in drafting their submission document. This support will be provided by a specialist in the target language, who will correct the document with one of its authors.

The programme should significantly increase the chances of success of the project, or acceptance of the article. In addition, this support should help researchers to improve their command of the target language.

Applications will be dealt with by the Academic Board's Research Committee on an ad hoc basis, at its monthly meetings.

Research mobilises infrastructures and instruments which may require heavy investment, and which must meet the strategic objectives of Avignon University (AU). These investments may be multiannual and should be included in the institution's multiannual research investment programme. This call for projects invites the research units under the supervision of AU to formulate their investment needs and to contextualise them with regard to :

  • The unit's scientific project,
  • The school's scientific project,
  • The unit's capacity to accommodate these instruments (technical and human environment)
  • The resources needed to ensure a good return on investment
  • the potential for pooling with other research units in the institution, where appropriate

Applications will be dealt with by the Academic Board's Research Committee on an ad hoc basis, at its monthly meetings.

Medium- and long-term research programmes developed in research laboratories may be implemented through a series of collaborative projects of varying nature and duration. The diversity of these projects, their funding arrangements and their timetables, limits the ability of scientific managers to structure and plan all the research activities associated with the programme.

Avignon Université wishes to offer the institution's teacher-researchers a framework that will enable them to group together a set of projects in a multi-year research operation, built around a coherent scientific programme that can be fed by several contractual collaborations.

Applications will be dealt with by the Academic Board's Research Committee on an ad hoc basis, at its monthly meetings.

The dissemination of scientific culture is one of Avignon Université's essential missions and one of its priorities. The aim of this programme is to support researchers, teacher-researchers and technical staff from the institution who wish to contribute to initiatives to disseminate scientific culture. The programme should enable the funding of projects led by the institution or participation in activities in which the institution is a partner.

Applications will be dealt with by the Academic Board's Research Committee on an ad hoc basis, at its monthly meetings.

The Short-Term Visitor programme aims to support the hosting of teacher-researchers or PhD researchers from France or abroad, for short periods of time, i.e. around one week.

Applications will be dealt with by the Academic Board's Research Committee on an ad hoc basis, at its monthly meetings.

The Outgoing Researcher Mobility programme aims to support the international mobility of lecturers and researchers from Avignon Université laboratories to foreign institutions, in order to boost the institution's international research policy.

Applications will be dealt with by the Academic Board's Research Committee on an ad hoc basis, at its monthly meetings.

The Incoming Visiting Researcher Mobility programme aims to support the hosting of foreign lecturers or researchers in Avignon Université laboratories for a period of 15 days to 2 months, in order to boost the institution's international research policy.

Applications will be dealt with by the Academic Board's Research Committee on an ad hoc basis, at its monthly meetings.
